Do you have a permanent temporary address? Confused? Many young people who come to cities after their college, used to change their places of stay frequently in the initial years (and jobs too) till they find a comfortable place to their liking. I’ve changed from Guindy to Vadapalani to Velachery in Chennai, all in one year.
People do miss quite a few things, as there is no proper communication address. I remember missing a few good offers to subscribe business magazines due to this address problem.
In problems lies the opportunity. How helpful it would be if we could open a communication a/c with a courier company and use this account as a single point of communication. Courier companies can run thisĀ service professionally with a separate post box for each a/c and can charge a monthly maintenance fees for this a/c.
Now if there is an address change, I don’t need to worry to communicate the change to all. I can simply update the company that maintains my a/c and it will do the trick.
Courier companies can use this service innovatively to add more revenue by delivering the incoming mails to the customers place at the time they prefer. Yes, few could misuse such a facility. But there is a genuine need for such a service too. They can have stricter a/c opening norms to prevent misuse.
DTDC, Blue Dart, Professional Couriers, et al – Will anyone give it a try?
