Indian Railways vs Airline

At present the Indian railways carry more passengers in two days than the airlines – growing at 20 per cent a year – carry in an entire year, says Peter Foster in his blog.

That means, airlines in India needs to grow by 100% for the next five years to take at least 10% of railway passengers with them. So there is tremendous growth opportunity here. But the big question is will the low cost carriers have enough fuel to fly in the sky for few more years to enter into the profit orbit?
