Believe me choosing a domain name is not as easy, as it sounds. However hard one thinks and come up with a name, you’ll end up only seeing the message – this name is already taken. Most of the domain names with relevant keywords are booked already only with the intention to sell to a prospective buyer. That made it all the more difficult as I’m not interested in negotiating the price with those sellers. So after trying a lot of permutations and combinations with the word biz, I finally ended up selecting the domain name bizdewz.com.
Domain registration costs only Rs 495/- per year, so if you plan to blog for long term it’s better to go for your own domain than using blogspot. I found some useful articles in the net during this naming process. Problogger’s article about choosing the domain name provides great insight towards naming your blog. Also Seth Godin’s post on new rules of naming is an interesting read.
Migration went smooth. Also blogger automatically forwards to the new domain even if one tries to access this blog using the old url http://brandsandads.blogspot.com/. However, I would like you to update your bookmarks to the new domain – Biz Dewz. Also update your RSS readers with the new feed – http://feeds.feedburner.com/bizdewz
